Try Lip Enhancement in Time for Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and we want you to look and feel your best. For some, that means getting their hair done and for others it may mean trying a new filler such as lip filler. Head into the holiday with a new lip enhancement to show off and make the day extra special. The dermatologists at Dermatology & Mohs Surgery Institute have lip filler recommendations to have you feeling confident and looking your best.

What to Know About Lip Fillers

How Lip Fillers Work

Lip fillers and lip injections can help boost your confidence by giving you the look you have always wanted. When considering lip augmentation, it is important to first consult with a dermatologist about the look you are trying to achieve. You will want to determine if you are going for minor plumpness in the bottom lip, top lip, or both or if you are looking for a fuller pout. This can help your dermatologist determine which lip filler to use.

Perlane lip filler and Juvederm lip filler are great options to get you the pout you are looking for. All lip fillers contain hyaluronic acid as its main ingredient. Hyaluronic acid is naturally produced in our body but as we age, it is produced less and less. When used as a serum or injectable it restores lost volume and promotes collagen production which helps to make your lips look fuller and plumper.

Types of Lip Fillers

Perlane is a hyaluronic acid-based lip filler that helps to create volume in both the lips and other areas of the face. The hyaluronic acid combines with saline to create a voluminous look. It is injected directly into the target areas with a fine needle and is a quick procedure. The average cost of a treatment is $650. Results are seen immediately but are not permanent. Perlane lip filler lasts up to nine months but treatments will need to be continued for continued results.

Juvederm lip injections is a filler used to plump the lips as well as improve other signs of aging such as lip lines and other facial contours. The injectable is filled with hyaluronic acid and is injected directly into the area(s) of concern. Not only is it used as a lip filler but can also be injected into the cheeks, lip lines or other wrinkles to smooth them out and add fullness back to the face. The average cost of a Juvederm lip treatment is $600. Results are noticeable immediately after treatment and can last up to two years. For continued results, treatments will need to be continued.

A dermatologist can help you decide if Perlane or Juvederm makes the most sense for the look you would like to achieve. You may also want to try both out to see which you like better. Either one you choose is sure to give you the perfect plump.
