Microneedling
What To Know About Microneedling
Microneedling is also known as collagen induction therapy. Microneedling is a treatment that intentionally creates very superficial “micro-injuries” to the outermost layer of the skin, inducing a wound-healing process that stimulates collagen synthesis.
This treatment requires minimal downtime and has been shown to reduce the visibility of acne scars, fine lines, wrinkles, diminish hyperpigmentation (safe for Melasma), and improve overall skin tone and texture. Because the treatment promotes new collagen growth, results are seen soon after and in the forthcoming three months. The number of treatments varies depending on the skin concern.
SkinPen® Microneedling
How does SkinPen Work?
SkinPen works by creating a series of hundreds of microscopic channels into the dermis to stimulate the skin’s natural production of new collagen and elastin, helping skin to look and feel healthier. SkinPen needles cycle at 100+ stamps/second, potentially creating 1600+ microchannels per second when moving the SkinPen.
What Areas Can SkinPen Treat?
SkinPen’s variable needle depth makes it safe and effective to use on many parts of the body, including the face, neck and décolletage. Talk to your SkinPen® provider to discuss your specific needs.
