Microneedling

What To Know About Microneedling

Microneedling is also known as collagen induction therapy. Microneedling is a treatment that intentionally creates very superficial “micro-injuries” to the outermost layer of the skin, inducing a wound-healing process that stimulates collagen synthesis.

This treatment requires minimal downtime and has been shown to reduce the visibility of acne scars, fine lines, wrinkles, diminish hyperpigmentation (safe for Melasma), and improve overall skin tone and texture. Because the treatment promotes new collagen growth, results are seen soon after and in the forthcoming three months. The number of treatments varies depending on the skin concern.

SkinPen® is the first FDA-cleared microneedling device, clinically proven to safely and effectively improve the appearance of acne scars and overall skin texture. This minimally invasive treatment works by creating controlled micro-injuries in the skin, stimulating your body’s natural healing process and boosting collagen and elastin production.

At Dermatology & Mohs Surgery Institute, our expert providers use SkinPen® to help smooth acne scars, refine pores, and rejuvenate your complexion with little to no downtime. Suitable for all skin types, SkinPen® offers a safe, effective solution for patients looking to achieve healthier, more radiant skin.
